The days here are wonderfully free of structure except for the sunsets, when everybody comes together on the porch to watch the sun dip below the horizon.
On that topic, at some point somebody told Niko the sun was “going into the water.” I’ve spent most of the trip trying to disavow him of this misconception. Getting him to sit still for an explanation on the earth’s rotation has proved impossible. Whoever told him this is in big trouble.
Cars on the porch

The yearly Florida trip has a bit more meaning now that we live in the cold. I spent the first 24 hours just thawing. I can’t say I noticed any fallout here in FL from the economy. That being said, all I do is sit on the porch and watch the waves. So I should say, the beach in front of the house was not impacted by the economy. Cousin Andrew is getting bigger and I get this feeling that he and Niko are going to get in a lot of trouble together. This year Niko was lucky enough to have his best friend Elsie along. She brought her parents too.

More video from playing in the mud. I definitely did not miss my calling as a cameraman.
