We headed out to Costa Rica with Mark, Mand, and Elsie in early September. As usual, Mandy did a much better job blogging about it<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Travel is definitely getting easier (we have definitely moved forward in the travel mobility-video gap<\/a>). Niko will watch Finding Nemo<\/em> pretty much indefinitely so at this point our sanity is defined by battery life. We go to war with a DVD player, mac book, and two iPhones so we generally can keep him distracted for all but take-off and landing. I can’t wait until he is old enough that I can say things like, “You know, when we were young we didn’t have movies OR planes. You should really appreciate what you have.” I’ll be sure to get the eye rolling on video.<\/p>\n

One leg of the journey had us on a small Cessna to get from San Jose to the central west coast. I expected Niko to excited about this flight given we were sitting basically in the cockpit. Instead he went to sleep for the entire flight. I already don’t understand the kid and he isn’t even a teenager yet.<\/p>\n

It was a wonderful vacation of beach, pool, food, and rest. So much rest I set a record for longest I have not checked email (previously measured in hours). Niko and Elsie seem to be really bonding and they are fun to watch together. I’m looking forward to the vacation when I can teach them both to surf.<\/p>\n
