Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) with microinvasion
DCIS
- Type of DCIS: Nuclear grade II-II with zonal necrosis (intermediate/high grade)
- Area of DCIS: 6 cm
- Of note: remarkable pattern of pleomorphic microcalcifications seen in mammography measuring 10.5 cm
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma
- Area of invasion: .9mm or 3mm depending on which pathologist you believe
- Type if IDC: type 2 microinvasion (TMI2)
Metastasis
- No lymph node spreading – both sentinel nodes are uninvolved
- Current tests show no spreading to organs, lungs, or bones
Treatment
- Right breast mastectomy
- Hormone therapy (tamoxifen), taken daily for five years
