I know that they aren't always the best habitat for animals, but I think we all need reminding that animals are real. So many of the animals in our lives are just pictures in books, but zoos give us the opportunity to see live animals and have a realistic idea of their size and color. My fondest childhood memory is going to see the sea lions in St.Louis when we lived there the year I was 3. Now I’m a big fan of zoos.
